Jojo pinny is a one-woman, one-beagle sweat shop. The woman behind the name works day and night designing funky aprons and the beagle keeps her company and barks as needed.

Why aprons? Because quilts are just too much work and too damn expensive.  Aprons are a fun (and economical) way to stay creative and express colour and pattern design  without compromising on fabric quality -- the perfect balance for a lover of textiles.

What's in the name?  Pinny is short for pinafore:

pin•a•fore (ˈpɪn əˌfɔr, -ˌfoʊr)
n. a sleeveless, apron-like garment usu. having buttons or a sash at the back, worn by girls and women over a dress or with a blouse. [1775–85; earlier pin-a-fore, i.e., an apron pinned in front]

How to get your hands on a jojo pinny apron:  At the moment, you have to actually know the woman behind the label because internet commerce is not yet enabled on this site.  If you're lucky, you live in Ottawa and will find jojo pinny at artisan shows and markets.  Until everything is up and running, custom orders or special requests will be entertained, with payments through Paypal.  Send inquiries by email to jojo@jojopinny.ca.

Here's are some snaps shots of the St. Mark's Christmas Show, Manotick, and the Canterbury Community Centre Christmas Show.  I always show-case an apron by wearing one and it always sells before the day is up.  In these pictures, the aqua green is a retro oil-cloth, basic apron, and it's the most popular pattern of the oil cloths.
